    I recycle and compost; use microfiber cloths that can be washed rather than disposable products. I use knitted dishcloths, and use either ecologically safe cleaning products or make my own from white vinegar, baking soda and borax.

  • I have recently changed the way I purchase items at the store.For instance if it isn't helping the envirement then I do not purchase.I have been recycling items,cans,paper,plastics.I wait till I have a full load of wash before doing laundry to conserve on soap,fabric softner and energy.Everylittle bit helps.

  • We gave up using paper towels, and purchased 48 shop rags (which look like inexpensive white washcloths), which we use to clean counters, wipe up spills, etc., then throw them in the laundry. When they get too worn to use in the kitchen, we use them to wash floors, woodwork, etc.). We've saved a bundle not buying paper towels, and we generate a lot less trash.
